Er stammte aus Indien und war Universitätsprofessor, bis er sich entschloß, seine Einsichten in öffentlichen Vorträgen zu verbreiten. Das von ihm begründete Meditationszentrum in Poona zieht auch heute noch zehntausende Besucher aus aller Welt an.
